Surface Aesthetics

Four signature finishes

Each finish is achieved through application technique. Same natural product, a different artisanal result on every wall.

Steel Trowel

Smooth

A refined, even surface worked with a stainless steel trowel. Calm and contemporary, ideal for minimal interiors.

Layered Depth

Patina

Subtle tonal movement built in layers, giving an aged, lived-in character that shifts gently across the wall.

Open Texture

Rustic

An artisanal, tactile surface with natural relief. Warm, grounded and full of visible craft.

Polished Sheen

Burnished

Polished firmly while curing to draw out a soft, lustrous sheen, without any added product.

Why DanaLux

The benefits of clay and lime

01

Breathable Walls

Microporous clay lets walls absorb and release moisture vapour, preventing condensation and damp without mechanical ventilation.

02

Humidity Regulation

Absorbs excess moisture in humid conditions and releases it when dry, stabilising indoor humidity between 45 and 65% RH.

03

Thermal Mass

Clay and lime store warmth and release it slowly, moderating temperature swings and aiding passive comfort.

04

Zero VOC, Non-Toxic

100% natural minerals. No volatile compounds, no synthetic biocides, no off-gassing. Safe for children and sensitive spaces.

05

Antibacterial

The high pH of lime forms a naturally alkaline surface that inhibits mould, mildew and bacteria, with no chemical additives.

06

Acoustic Comfort

The mineral mass absorbs sound energy, reducing reverberation and echo across residential and hospitality interiors.

07

Sustainable & Circular

Earth-sourced, solvent-free and biodegradable. Supports green building credits under LEED, BREEAM and Green Star.

08

Living Aesthetic

No two applications are alike. Natural movement during curing gives a depth and warmth synthetic materials cannot replicate.

09

Ease of Repair

Patch repairs re-bond to the mineral base at a molecular level, so localised damage touches up without visible joints.

Application Guide

How to apply DanaLux

01

Surface Preparation

Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, sound and free of grease or loose particles. Fill cracks and prime absorbent surfaces with a diluted clay primer or PVA.

02

First Coat

Apply with a stainless steel trowel, sponge float or brush in 1 to 2 square metre sections at 0.4mm nominal thickness. Texture as desired for your chosen finish.

03

Dry Between Coats

Allow 12 to 24 hours between coats. Do not force-dry. Hold ambient temperature between 10 and 30 degrees and keep out of direct sunlight while curing.

04

Second Coat and Finish

Apply the second coat to full coverage and work in your finish: smooth, patina, rustic or burnished. Allow 24 to 48 hours before sealing.

05

Carnauba Wax Sealer

Apply the first wax coat with a soft cloth in circular motions, buff when dry, then apply a second coat for full protection and your chosen sheen.
